Program

Day 1: Welcome to Bulgaria – Sofia → Starosel

Arrival at Sofia Airport and transfer to Starosel, a unique complex combining wine, spa, and
ancient history. Accommodation and free time for relaxation. In the evening – welcome
dinner with a wine-tasting experience. Overnight in Starosel.

Day 2: Thracian Secrets & Plovdiv’s Old Town

Morning visit to Thracian tombs and local wineries around Starosel. Lunch with regional
specialties, then departure to Plovdiv – Bulgaria’s second largest city and European Capital
of Culture. Walking tour of the Old Town with the Ancient Theatre, Ethnographic Museum,
and charming cobblestone streets. Overnight in Plovdiv.

Day 3: From Antiquity to the Sea – Plovdiv → Nessebar → Varna

Breakfast and departure for the Black Sea. Stop at Nessebar – a UNESCO World Heritage
site. Explore its ancient peninsula with churches, cobblestone alleys, and sea views. Lunch
overlooking the coast. In the afternoon, arrival in Varna, Bulgaria’s sea capital. Evening walk
through the Sea Garden. Overnight in Varna.

Day 4: Varna – History & the Magic of Fire Dancers

Full-day exploration of Varna: the Cathedral, Roman Baths, museums, and the
Archaeological Museum with the world’s oldest processed gold. Evening dinner in a
traditional restaurant with folklore show and the fiery Nestinari dance ritual. Overnight in
Varna.

Day 5: Adventure & the Sea – Varna Region

Morning jeep safari in the forests near Varna, with air rifle and archery activities. Lunch in a
rustic tavern with traditional grill dishes. Afternoon pirate-themed sea cruise – food, drinks,
games, and fun on board. Overnight in Varna.

Day 6: From the Coast to the Hills – Varna → Balchik → Veliko Tarnovo

First stop in Balchik – the romantic Palace of Queen Marie and the Botanical Garden with
over 2,000 plant species. Visit the Aladzha Rock Monastery, carved into white limestone
cliffs. Afternoon transfer to Veliko Tarnovo, the medieval capital of Bulgaria. Short evening
walk through the old streets. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.

Day 7: Royal History & Sofia’s Spirit – Veliko Tarnovo → Sofia

Morning visit to Tsarevets Fortress, walking in the footsteps of Bulgarian kings. Later – meet
a local artisan and join a pottery workshop, creating your own souvenir. Afternoon drive to
Sofia. Panoramic city tour including Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, St. George Rotunda, the
Presidency, and Vitosha Boulevard. Farewell dinner with live music. Overnight in Sofia.

Day 8: Farewell

Breakfast and transfer to Sofia Airport. Departure with inspiring memories of a journey filled
with colors, flavors, and soul.
